What's the first thing you do when you're ready to buy something online? You go and look at what other people thought, right? It's the same when someone buys a book. They want to know what other people thought. But, there's even more to the story. The more reviews a book receives, the more it climbs in the behind the scenes of where it is listed, and is more easily found by others. That's a big deal to an author! Getting "found" as a new author, especially when you don't have a million dollars to spend, is not easy. Word of mouth is still the best thing. If you like a book, tell others.
So how can you be a helper? First, get Being Ethel (In a world that loves Lucy) in an ebook or paperback. Take the journey to Mackinac Island in 1979, spend time at the Grand Hotel while they are filming the movie Somewhere in Time. It's full of suspense, romance, and of course, an I Love Lucy loving nun. I think you'll like it.
Once you've read it, leave a review! It doesn't have to be long, just what you enjoyed. Be sure not to say anything that gives away story secrets, let people find those out for themselves. Places to leave a review...and you can do multiple places... Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, IndiBound or anywhere you find it! It should be available everywhere.
Libraries? I want to get into libraries, and will! If you can request your library to bring it in, that is very helpful, it is available to them.
So the moral of the story is, please leave a review after you read my books! It matters more than you know! Oh, and tell your friends, too! In fact, it's a great thing to send to someone who needs a little cheering up in this time. Just fill in their name when you get to the mailing address from wherever you are sending it. Thanks for the help and invite your friends to sign up for my newsletter on my connect page at LakeGirlPublishing.com I'm going to be giving some chances away for free things in the days ahead!
